Flowers Looking for Sound
November 2022 – January 2023
Tune Up, Antwerp
Oil paintings on canvas in a range of sizes have been created especially for this space, depicting imaginative flowers with vibrant brushstrokes that seamlessly blend colour and form.
These paintings are complemented by a series of collages which also demonstrate a strong sense of colour and form, but in a well defined composition. Each uniquely sized and consisting of a vinyl record and paper on wood, they are designed to add depth and dimension to the space.
The works are titled, from left to right: ‘Tempo’, ‘Equinox’ and ‘Dynamo’.
Assisted by Laurence B. Bernard
To create a link between the interior and exterior spaces, one of the background panel shapes has been mirrored in a symmetrical constellation on a window. This juxtaposition invites the viewer to look both inwards and outwards.
In addition, on another window pane is a 99 x 83 cm white marker drawing of roses forming a serene but fragile cluster.
