coloured textile, 0.80 m x 130 m (30 + 100 m)
In the woods two figures are wrapped from shoulder to waist in a 130-metre-long piece of coloured cloth around a tree. This tree held them upright. So they could stand together through time. Above all, because it took care of them without any longing or expectation. Eventually, the two figures leave, clearing a path that leads them back to the beginning, each in a different form, relieved of a dozen metres of cloth. In this process of unwinding, the audience itself becomes embedded.
One takes up the challenge by singing. As the other character recites ‘I like to be a tree’, the singer interjects several times with a gentle melody.
